Revolution EDA Introduces PDK, Plugin, and Library Registries
22/03/2026 — Revolution EDA now ships with integrated registry tools for managing PDKs, plugins, and design libraries directly from the main window.
Huissen, the Netherlands - Revolution EDA has introduced integrated registry tools for managing the three core components of a working IC design environment: PDKs, plugins, and design libraries. All three registries are accessible from the main window under the Tools menu.
The Plugin Registry (Tools -> Plugins -> Setup Plugins...) allows users to browse, install, and uninstall optional capability packages such as simulation environment integration and AI-assisted design tools. The Library Registry (Tools -> Libraries -> Setup Libraries) handles downloadable design libraries and automatically updates the Library Browser upon installation. The PDK Registry (Tools -> PDKs -> Setup PDK...) manages process design kit packages, displaying version and format information and supporting install and uninstall operations.
Together these registries replace manual file management with a consistent workflow, bridging the gap between a fresh Revolution EDA installation and a fully operational design environment.
